In a recent survey, Sony is asking players if they would be enthusiastic about the possibility of Remote Play on the Nintendo Switch. 1. Sony’s doing some research into PlayStation 4’s popular Remote Playfeature, potentially teasing some tantalising new ways to play. As part of a survey shared on Reddit, the manufacturer asks.
  2. PS Remote Play for Nintendo Switch. It seems unlikely that PS Vita will be able to use Remote Play for PS5 games since they stopped supporting it and they probably won’t make a successor. Sure it can work on your tablet but that still doesn’t feel perfect. What if Sony did a collaboration with Nintendo to add a PS Remote Play app to the.

According to the post, they received an email survey from Sony regarding the Remote Play feature. It asked participants about their thoughts of the feature arriving on non-Sony devices like the Xbox One or the Nintendo Switch, and it also asked them their thoughts on the feature for non-gaming devices like the Apple TV or Android TV.

For those who are unfamiliar, Remote Play is essentially a game streaming service where player will be able to stream PlayStation 4 games onto other devices, similar to other cloud-based game streaming services like Google Stadia and Microsoft’s Project xCloud. That being said, do not get your hopes up just yet.

While Sony’s survey could hint at the company’s interest in bringing the service onto more platforms, it does not necessarily mean that they will. This will also be based largely on user feedback, where if there isn’t much interest, the company might not necessarily move ahead. However, it is still an interesting proposal and we wouldn’t mind seeing Remote Play make its way onto more devices and platforms in the future.

Remote Play lets you stream your PS4 games to a raft of devices, including a PS Vita, PC or smartphone, that are also connected to your broadband network. There's DualShock 4 wireless controller suppport, too.

The headline question is this:

'Ability to PS4 Remote Play on more devices (eg able to play on Nintendo Switch, Apple TV or Android TV).'

The user then selects how appealing they'd find that, choosing from five options.

Meanwhile, other questions posed by the survey suggest Sony is thinking about allowing Remote Play on a device that's not connected to the internet, allowing Remote Play without a PS4 connected to the internet, enabling access to PS1 and PS2 games, releasing a slim/portable DualShock controller that's easier to carry on-the-go, and letting you connect other controllers, such as an Xbox controller or mouse and keyboard.

Of course, this is just a survey, and Sony may never action anything mentioned here, let alone release the Remote Play app on Nintendo Switch. But the survey does provide us with a snapshot of Sony's thinking on the future of Remote Play, and it sounds pretty interesting.
