The LX25 features a large in-class cutting capacity for sawing 26” diameter logs into 22” wide boards up to 12’ 5” in length. The rectangular throat design offers the same 22' width of cut capacity from the blade all the way up to the sawhead. Adjustable Blade Guide Arm and Blade Engage
Reduce blade travel and support the blade when sawing narrow and wide material with the adjustable blade guide arm. Engage the sawmill blade with one handle that engages the mechanical clutch and throttles the engine at the same time. Keep the blade cool and free of pitch, sap, and sawdust while sawing with the gravity-fed blade lubrication that applies directly to the blade.
Auto-Locking Sawhead
Quickly and accurately move the sawhead up and down to prepare for sawing with the auto-locking sawhead crank handle. Quick-Set Log Clamp
Constructed of solid tube steel, the quick-set log clamp tightly fastens logs for sawing and is adjustable up/down and in/out as material is cut. The log clamp uses an acme thread screw for better durability, rust-resistant powder-coat paint, and a clamp point block for an extra grip on a round log or squared cant. Each log clamp is able to move between other cross sections and additional log clamps are available.
4 Quick-Set Side Supports
Four quick-set side supports (two short and two long) use a convenient and secure notching system for fast adjustment between cuts and when turning logs. An additional built-in bed side support on each cross section eliminates the need for quick-set side supports while sawing a squared cant and allows for final cuts within 1” of the bed.
Easy Blade Changes
Sawmill blades run on belted 16' diameter cast iron band wheels. Blade changes are easy with the one-piece sawhead cover that is secured by two outside fasteners and two inside clips. The space-saving cover opens above the sawmill and locks into place for convenience. To change a blade, simply release the blade tension, replace the blade, and tension the blade without having to remove any extra parts.

We at the Thomas family have deep roots in the Maine tradition of craftsmanship and innovation. Dale Thomas began working with steel in 1959 and for almost five decades gained extensive experience in steel fabrication and design.
In 1982, Dale Thomas bought the steel fabrication business he worked for and formed Dale A. Thomas and Sons, Inc. The company spent the next 20+ years doing custom designed jobs of rugged steel farm equipment, as well as selling different types of portable bandsaws. His son Jon joined the company full time in 1997. We started manufacturing the Thomas Portable Bandsaw Mills.
The company now produces a variety of bandsaws, which are reasonably priced, easy to operate, large capacity, portable and very durable, we also produce two models of the Thomas Edger. After extensive development we created a more feature packed and heavier mill than we had before. This new design is our flagship moving forward.

Maine Grilling Woods purchased the first of three band saw mills from Thomas nearly six years ago to test the durability and performance of their mills. After running a minimum of six hours a day, five days a week our original 13 hp mill is still going strong. During this time other than normal maintenance and blades, we have spent less than $300.00 in total for all parts and labor in repairs. The other larger mills are performing equally as well. In fact, we have never had any of our mills down even for a day.
Thomas Bandsaw Mills have definitely lived up to their end of the deal with quality mills, complete parts back up, and great service when needed. We are getting ready to purchase another mill in the near future and I am not even going to get a quote anywhere else.
We bought are 8020 in 2005 after talking to Jon on the phone. The mill is giving us great service here in the United Kingdom. If I've had a problem, their is help just a phone call away, (the problems i encounter are operator errors bad set blades or poor sharpening). We attend 4-5 local shows a year and the saw always attracts a lot of attention.
